Obverse description Male head facing right, depicted in a Hellenistic style with what appears to be a radiate or crested helmet, the features rendered in a somewhat crude provincial manner consistent with Iberian coinage of the period. The bust is set within a broad, plain field on an irregular flan typical of hammered bronze issues. The Punic inscription תגילת (Tagilit), identifying the issuing city, appears in the field. The overall style reflects the cultural syncretism of a Punic-influenced Iberian mint of the 2nd century BC.
