Lakine was a small Iberian settlement whose exact location remains disputed among scholars — most place it somewhere in the northeastern Iberian Peninsula, though no archaeological site has been conclusively identified as the mint. The coinage falls within the broader tradition of Iberian bronze issues produced during Roman administrative consolidation of Hispania, a period when dozens of local communities were permitted or encouraged to strike their own bronze for regional circulation.
CNH#1 designation marks this as the primary reference type for the series in Villaronga's Corpus Nummum Hispaniae.
