Obverse description Armored bust of John II Casimir Vasa facing right, the effigy rendered in high baroque relief with the king wearing an ornate crown and richly decorated plate armor over chain mail, the collar and gorget finely engraved. Long flowing curled hair frames the portrait in the mid-17th century fashion, with sharply individualized facial features characteristic of the Toruń mint's accomplished engravers. A beaded inner border encircles the effigy, with the Latin legend distributed around the periphery of the field.
