| Reverse description | Central quartered royal shield bearing the arms of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth: the Polish eagle and Lithuanian Pahonia (mounted knight) arranged in opposing quarters, with the Ciołek (bull's head) dynastic device of the Poniatowski family in an inescutcheon at center. The shield is surmounted by a royal crown. The entire composition is encircled by a wreath of laurel or olive branches. The legend GROS. III REG.POL.M.D.LIT. is distributed around the periphery, with the date 1765 incorporated into the legend. |
