The 1767 trojak sits inside one of the most turbulent years of Poniatowski's reign. That same year, Russian ambassador Nikolai Repnin effectively dictated terms to the Polish Sejm, forcing through the Repnin Constitution and guaranteeing the rights of religious dissenters — a move widely understood as a pretext to keep the Commonwealth permanently dependent on St. Petersburg. Coinage from Kraków in this period was already constrained by monetary reforms imposed partly under foreign pressure.
Kopicki 2280 is a scarce variety. The Kraków mint's output of small silver in 1767 was limited, and survivors in problem-free condition are genuinely difficult to place.
