| Obverse description | Crowned, draped bust of Sigismund III Vasa facing right, wearing a ruffled collar and robes of state, with a prominent beard rendered in fine detail. The royal crown surmounts the effigy, depicted with elaborate cross and fleur-de-lis finials. A circular Latin legend runs around the periphery, with the last two digits of the date appearing at the conclusion of the inscription. The portrait is executed in the high-relief mannered style characteristic of late 16th-century Polish hammered coinage. |
