Obverse description Crowned bust of Sigismund III Vasa facing right, wearing an elaborate ruff collar and royal mantle, with a large arched crown surmounting the effigy. The portrait is rendered in the characteristic late-Renaissance style of the Vilnius mint. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, reading SIG III DG R PO M D L, abbreviated titles denoting his kingship of Poland and Grand Duchy of Lithuania. The inner field is unadorned, with the bust occupying the majority of the flan.
