| Additional information |
The Wilno mint operated under lease arrangements throughout much of Sigismund III's reign, with minting rights periodically granted to private contractors whose quality control was inconsistent at best. The 1590 trojak from Wilno falls within a period when the mint was producing large volumes of small silver to meet Commonwealth demand, and examples from this facility frequently show weaker workmanship than contemporary issues from Poznań or Kraków.
Iger V.90 places this among the catalogued varieties for the year — Wilno trojaki of this reign are numerous enough in type but attribution to specific die pairings remains a specialist pursuit.
