| Obverse description | Crowned and armored bust of King Sigismund III Vasa facing right, wearing an elaborate royal crown surmounted by a fleur-de-lis finial, with a ruffled collar and draped mantle visible at the truncation. The king is depicted with a short beard and moustache in the late Renaissance portrait style characteristic of the Vilnius mint. A circular Latin legend surrounds the effigy, divided by the bust, reading SIG III D G REX PO M D L, abbreviated for Sigismundus III Dei Gratia Rex Poloniae Magnus Dux Lithuaniae. The entire design is enclosed within a beaded inner border. |
