Reverse description A horse standing to the right in a proud, alert posture with its head turned slightly, depicted in profile against a plain field. A tall, slender palm tree rises prominently to the left of the horse, its fronds spread outward and a cluster of dates visible at the base of the crown — the palm being a quintessential symbol of Carthage (Phoenicia). No legend is present; the composition is bold and schematic, consistent with the military mint coinage struck during the First Punic War.
