| Obverse description | Facing gorgoneion (Medusa head) depicted in archaic style, rendered in high relief at the center of the flan. The grotesque apotropaic mask displays a broad, flat nose, large staring eyes, and a wide open mouth with visible teeth, characteristic of the late Archaic artistic convention. Flanking the head are serpentine coils or locks of hair spreading outward toward the flan edges. The field is plain and uninscribed, the style consistent with Carian or southwestern Anatolian mint production of the fifth century BC. |

| Reverse description | Incuse square divided asymmetrically, containing the figure of a bee or winged insect rendered in relief within the depressed punch. The wings are spread symmetrically and depicted with fine incised striations suggesting feathering or venation, while the body is rendered with a central rounded thorax and segmented abdomen. The incuse square has a characteristic rough, slightly irregular surface typical of early hammered coinage from an uncertain Carian mint. No legend or additional devices are present in the field. |
