Reverse description Large capital alpha (Α) prominently occupying the upper field, serving as the initial of Argos. The magistrate's name ΙΕΡΩΝΟΣ (Hieronos) is divided across the field in three lines as Ι-Ε / Ρ-Ω / ΝΟ-Σ. In the lower portion of the field, an eagle stands to the right, a traditional Argive civic symbol. The entire design is contained within a square incuse, characteristic of Peloponnesian hammered silver coinage of the late Hellenistic period.
