Obverse description Forepart of a wolf displayed in high relief, facing right in a rearing or bay posture, rendered in bold archaic style. The animal's musculature and open jaws are clearly articulated, conveying dynamic movement. The design occupies the central field of the irregularly shaped flan, characteristic of hammered Argive coinage of the late Hellenistic period.

The magistrate's name AIΣXYΛOΣ is inscribed in three lines arranged around the alpha.
