| Beschrijving keerzijde | A bull charging and butting to the right occupies the lower portion of the field, rendered with muscular energy typical of Greek numismatic art. Above and to the right, a centaur gallops to the right, depicted in vigorous motion and raising or hurling a log or tree branch as a weapon, a mythological motif associated with the legends of Arcadia. The ethnic legend ΚΛΗ, an abbreviation for Kleitor, appears in the field. The composition is dynamic, with both figures conveying movement across the compact flan surface. |

| Aanvullende informatie |
Kleitor was a minor polis in the upland Azanian district of Arkadia, politically active enough to mint its own coinage but never a dominant regional power. The city's issues are rare across all denominations, a product of limited commercial reach rather than short civic life. BCD 1431 is among the better-documented specimens from this series, catalogued in the landmark Lanz sale of the BCD collection in 2006.
