Obverse description Head of a female deity, most likely Persephone or a local nymph, facing right, rendered in fine archaic-to-early Classical style. The hair is elaborately arranged, adorned with a stephane or diadem decorated with pellets, and gathered in a bun at the nape with a loose curl falling behind the ear. The portrait exhibits the characteristic high-relief modelling and refined die-engraving associated with the Ionian mint tradition of the early fourth century BC. The field is plain and unlettered.
