Reverse description Central field bears a large, bold cross pattée with splayed, slightly ornate terminals, set within a beaded inner circle. The cross fills the field prominently and is executed in the hammered style typical of Milanese petty coinage of the early sixteenth century. The surrounding circular Latin legend reads MEDIOLANI • DVX • 7 C •, proclaiming Louis XII as Duke of Milan. The flan is irregular and somewhat clipped at the margins, with green and golden patination visible across the surface.
