Obverse description Youthful head of Dionysos facing right, hair bound with an ivy wreath whose leaves are rendered in high relief with naturalistic detail. The locks fall in thick, sinuous waves behind the ear, and the facial features are finely modelled in the Hellenistic tradition, conveying a serene, idealized portrait typical of Carian civic coinage of the period. The field is plain, with no legend or additional devices.
