Obverse description Bare head of Herakles facing right, depicted youthful and clean-shaven, wearing the Nemean lion's skin headdress with the scalp drawn over the crown. The portrait is rendered in the archaic-to-early Classical Greek style characteristic of Macedonian bronze coinage of the period, with bold, somewhat crude engraving typical of small-denomination issues. The field is flat and largely unadorned.

Reverse description An eagle stands facing left with wings folded, its head turned back to the right in a reverted posture. The bird is depicted naturalistically in profile, with strong, schematic feather rendering typical of early Macedonian bronzes. The ethnic inscription ΑΜΥΝΤΑ appears divided in the field, identifying the issuing king Amyntas III. The design occupies the full flan within a plain border.
