Obverse description Bare head of Herakles facing right, depicted youthful and clean-shaven, wearing the Nemean lion's skin headdress with the scalp drawn over the crown. The portrait is rendered in the archaic-to-early Classical Greek style characteristic of Macedonian bronze coinage of the period, with bold, somewhat crude engraving typical of small-denomination issues. The field is flat and largely unadorned.
