| Beschrijving voorzijde | Facing bust of Helios, the sun god, rendered in fine Hellenistic style with curly hair encircling the head. Radiating sun rays, depicted as elongated pointed triangular flames, extend outward around the head in all directions, filling the field. The face is rendered with delicate, naturalistic features — almond-shaped eyes, a straight nose, and slightly parted lips — turned very slightly to the left. The bust is set within a circular border, with the rays creating a bold decorative halo effect characteristic of Tarentine coinage of this period. |

The legend ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΟΥ arcs along the upper field and ΤΟΥ ΝΕΟΠΤΟΛΕΜΟΥ is inscribed along the lower field, identifying the issuing authority as Alexander, son of Neoptolemos, King of Epeiros. The entire design is contained within a plain circular border. |
