Obverse description Bearded head of the river-god Acheloös facing right, rendered in archaic to early classical Greek style. The face displays strongly modelled features including a broad, fleshy nose, prominent beard, and a bull's horn visible above the forehead — a characteristic iconographic attribute of this deity. The flan is irregular, as typical of small hammered silver coinage of Akarnania, with the design filling the field without border or legend.

Reverse description The ethnic abbreviation ΣΤΡ for Stratos is displayed prominently within a concave incuse circle, the central tau (Τ) rendered at double the normal height to serve simultaneously as the letter and as a mark of value denoting the trihemiobol denomination. The sigma (Σ) appears to the left and the rho (Ρ) to the right of the enlarged tau, all three letters boldly incised in archaic Greek script. The concave circle border, characteristic of early Akarnanian coinage, frames the design within the roughly circular flan.
