| Aanvullende informatie |
Erythrai was one of the twelve cities of the Ionian League, situated on the coast of Asia Minor opposite Chios. Its silver coinage of this period belongs to the decades immediately following the Ionian Revolt and the Persian Wars — a time when many Ionian mints were reasserting their civic identity after years of Persian-imposed disruption. The trihemiobol denomination, three half-obols, served petty commercial exchange in a port city that derived much of its income from trade across the Aegean.
SNG Copenhagen 561 remains the standard reference for this type, with very few institutional collections holding examples.
