| Reverse description | Forepart of a roaring lion facing right, depicted in vigorous archaic style with open jaws and detailed mane, struck within a shallow incuse square divided by raised linear borders. The incuse technique is characteristic of early Samian silver coinage and lends a deep, recessed appearance to the type. The field within the square is rough and unsmoothed, typical of hammered archaic fabric. No legend or inscription is present. |
