Obverse description A forepart or full figure of a ram advancing to the left occupies the central field, rendered in archaic relief characteristic of Elean small silver coinage of the fourth century BC. The animal is depicted with a prominent curled horn and musculature suggested by bold, if somewhat roughly engraved, contour lines. The flan is irregular and the design fills the available field without a border or additional inscription. The style is consistent with the rustic hand of provincial Peloponnesian mint workers of the period.
