| 裏面の説明 | Helmeted head of Athena facing right, wearing a crested Attic helmet, rendered in profile in the severe style typical of fourth-century Pisidian coinage. Behind the head, a spear-head pointing upward and an astragalos (knucklebone) serve as secondary devices, functioning as civic symbols of Selge. The design is compact and well-centred given the small flan, with no encircling legend. The field is otherwise plain. |

Selge was an unusually tenacious city — a Pisidian stronghold in the Taurus highlands that resisted Alexander's advance in 334 BC and remained effectively autonomous long after most of Anatolia had submitted. These fractional silver issues predate that confrontation by roughly a generation, circulating in a highland economy largely insulated from coastal Greek monetary networks. The trihemiobol denomination itself is rare in Pisidian coinage, and Selge's consistent output of small silver fractions suggests a local commercial infrastructure more developed than the region's remote geography might imply.
