Dikaia was a small Thracian coastal settlement near the Chalcidic peninsula, almost certainly a colony of Eretria. Its independent coinage is extremely rare, a product of perhaps a generation or two of civic autonomy before the region fell increasingly under Macedonian and later Athenian influence. The AMNG III#8 reference places this piece among a tiny series documented by Pick at the turn of the twentieth century, with surviving specimens numbering in the single digits across institutional collections.
