Obverse description Helmeted draped bust of Athena facing right, wearing a Corinthian helmet pushed back on the head, rendered in fine archaic Hellenistic style. The facial features are delicately engraved, with a prominent nose and well-defined chin. The flan is irregular and slightly off-center, as typical of hammered small silver coinage of Caria.

Reverse description Owl of Athena standing right with head facing front, wings closed, rendered in the classic Athenian tradition. The bird is depicted with characteristic large round eyes and compact body. Greek inscription ΑΛΙΚΑΡ to the left and ΚΑΡΜ to the right of the owl, identifying the issuing city of Halikarnassos in Caria.
