The portrait is rendered in the Hellenistic style, with fine detail in the helmet's cresting and cheekpieces. The field is plain, with no visible inscription on the obverse.

Beschrijving keerzijde	Full-length figure of Phemios depicted as a slinger, nude save for a chlamys draped over his shoulder and a sword in its scabbard at his side, shown in dynamic action releasing a sling to the right. Two spears lean against his right leg behind him, and a cornucopiae appears in the right field. The Greek legend ΑΙΝΙΑΝΩΝ ΕΧΕΣΘΕΝ is distributed across the field, identifying the issuing authority of the Ainianes and the magistrate Echesthenes.
