| Obverse description | Facing lion scalp depicted in full-face view, the mane rendered in bold, deeply engraved radiating locks framing the broad forehead and muzzle. The powerful musculature of the scalp is modelled in high relief, with the open jaws and wrinkled snout presented frontally in the Hellenistic tradition. A beaded border encircles the entire design, running continuously around the coin's periphery. The die-cutting displays confident, vigorous workmanship characteristic of the Samian mint during the late Hellenistic period. |

| Reverse description | Forepart of a bull advancing to right, head lowered in a charging posture, rendered in fine Hellenistic relief. A crater (wine vessel) is positioned in the left field, serving as a mint control symbol. Below the bull's chest, a trident head points to the left, a further subsidiary symbol associated with Samian civic iconography. An ear of grain rises diagonally in the right field. The ethnic legend ΣAMIΩN appears in the field, identifying the issuing authority of the island of Samos. |
