| Obverse description | Bare-headed bust of Heracles facing right, the hero draped in the Nemean lion's skin, with the scalp and open jaws of the beast forming a distinctive headdress over the crown of the head. The facial features are rendered in a robust Italic style, with a prominent beard visible at the chin. The folds of the lion's pelt fall across the neck and shoulder, their musculature indicated by deep incised lines. The field is otherwise plain. |
