Obverse description The Herakliskos Drakonopnigon type: the infant Herakles depicted nude, crouching in three-quarter facing view upon a rock, head turned to the left, both hands outstretched as he strangles a serpent in each grip. The scene is rendered in a vigorous, naturalistic style characteristic of late fifth-century BC Karian coinage. The Greek inscription ΣYN appears in the exergue beneath the figure.

Reverse description Draped bust of Aphrodite facing right, rendered with fine engraving typical of the Knidian mint's accomplished die-cutters. A ship's prow is positioned below the chin of the goddess, serving as a civic emblem of the maritime city of Knidos. The ethnic legend KNIΔIΩN encircles the design, and the entire composition is set within a recessed incuse square.
