| Obverse description | Laureate head of Zeus facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic tradition with finely detailed hair and beard. Behind the head, the name of the responsible magistrate is inscribed in small Greek letters. The portrait exhibits strong modelling characteristic of Thessalian bronze coinage of the period. The legend ΛΕΟΝΤΟΣ, identifying the magistrate Leonton, appears in the field to the rear of the head. |
