Obverse description Laureate and bearded head of Zeus facing right, rendered in fine archaic-classical style with detailed hair and beard. The laureate wreath is depicted with individual leaves arranged around the head. The facial features display a strong profile with a prominent nose and well-defined brow, characteristic of Thessalian coinage of the mid-fourth century BC. The flan is somewhat irregular, as typical of hammered bronze issues of this period.
