| 正面描述 | Bare laureate head of Apollo facing right, rendered in the Hellenistic style with flowing, tousled hair swept back from the brow and falling in thick wavy locks behind the neck. The facial features are finely modelled with a straight nose, slightly parted lips, and a well-defined jaw. The portrait fills the flan with considerable presence, occupying the full field of this irregularly struck bronze flan. |

The Thessalian League was reconstituted under Roman supervision after 196 BC, functioning as a regional administrative body rather than a genuinely independent political entity. Its bronze coinage served local exchange needs across a federation of cities that had, for centuries, resisted easy unification. The trichalkon denomination — three chalkoi — was a practical subdivision suited to small-scale market transactions in an agricultural economy.
The Rogers reference places this among the earliest systematized attributions of Thessalian League bronzes, a series that remains difficult to sequence precisely due to overlapping magistrate names and inconsistent die relationships.
