Obverse description Laureate head of Vespasian facing right, depicted with characteristic portrait features of the Flavian emperor including a broad, fleshy face and short neck. The bust is presented in the provincial Greek style typical of the Phrygian mint at Apamea. The encircling legend in Greek identifies the emperor by his full imperial titulature, running around the periphery of the flan. The portrait reflects the robust, realistic style of Flavian provincial coinage of Asia Minor.
