Obverse description Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust of Gordian III facing right, depicted in the imperial military tradition typical of Trajanic-era provincial coinage. The emperor's effigy shows a youthful portrait with clearly articulated pauldron and drapery folds over the left shoulder. A beaded border encircles the flan. The Greek imperial titulature legend runs around the bust.
