| Opis awersu |
The octagonal brass flan bears the Chilean national coat of arms at center, depicting a quartered escutcheon supported by a rearing huemul to the right and a condor to the left, set upon an ornate scrolled cartouche. The shield displays the traditional bipartite field with a three-pointed white star above a red base. The circumferential legend REPUBLICA DE CHILE arcs along the upper periphery in bold Latin capitals, following the contour of the octagonal edge. |

| Opis rewersu |
The reverse field is dominated by a large stylized monogram or ligature 'S' occupying the central area of the octagonal flan, rendered in bold relief with a small condor or bird motif incorporated at the lower right of the device. The legend CASA DE MONEDA arcs along the upper left periphery in spaced Latin capitals. Below the central device, the date inscription 1-X-1743 appears in the lower field, commemorating the founding date of the Santiago Mint on 1 October 1743. The mintmark 'So' references the Santiago assay office. |
