Reverse description A floriated or cross pattée design occupies the central field, enclosed within a beaded or toothed inner circle, typical of late medieval billon coinage from the Savoyard region. The arms of the cross are rendered with simple Gothic floral terminals. The surrounding legend, a Scriptural invocation, runs continuously around the outer margin in uncial lettering, interrupted by a cross at the commencement. The overall execution reflects the modest artistic conventions of small-denomination ecclesiastical billon issues of the mid-15th century.
