Reverse description A desolate war-torn landscape in high relief depicts a trench with shattered tree stumps to the left and tangled barbed wire to the right. In the centre, a milestone bears the inscription '? KM', with a snail perched atop it, satirising the negligible territorial gains of the Allied advance. The legend 'SIEGESPREIS' arcs across the upper field, and the initials 'K.G' appear in the lower exergue.
