Obverse description Highly stylized facing bust of King Suinthila occupying the central field, rendered in the debased late Visigothic manner with schematic facial features and elongated neck. The effigy is surrounded by a border of triangular pellet-tipped points arranged in a continuous ring around the coin's circumference. Flanking the bust are groups of triangular star-like ornaments dispersed across the field, characteristic of the late Visigothic coinage style. The legend +SVINTHILARE runs around the periphery in degraded Latin lettering. The overall design reflects the progressive stylization and abstraction typical of Visigothic tremisses struck at provincial mints.
