背面描述 A bold cross pattée or potent rising from a three-stepped base occupies the central field, rendered in the characteristic schematic style of Visigothic coinage from the Ispali mint. Two pellets appear at the base of the steps. The field surrounding the cross is populated by a series of stylized star or pellet-in-annulet ornaments arranged in a circle, a distinctive decorative feature of this mint and reign. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle and a serrated outer border. No legend is present on this side as the mint and royal epithet appear on the obverse.

附加信息

Recceswinth's reign saw one of the more consequential pieces of Visigothic legislation — the Liber Iudiciorum of 654, which replaced the dual legal system that had kept Romans and Visigoths under separate codes for nearly two centuries. Ispali, modern Seville, was among the more productive Visigothic mints and continued striking under successive kings, making mint attribution here more secure than for many provincial issues in this series.

Pliego's cataloguing work remains the standard reference for Visigothic tremisses, having substantially revised earlier CNV attributions for the Ispali mint.
