Reverse description A bold cross pattée or potent rising from a three-stepped base occupies the central field, rendered in the characteristic schematic style of Visigothic coinage from the Ispali mint. Two pellets appear at the base of the steps. The field surrounding the cross is populated by a series of stylized star or pellet-in-annulet ornaments arranged in a circle, a distinctive decorative feature of this mint and reign. The design is enclosed within a beaded inner circle and a serrated outer border. No legend is present on this side as the mint and royal epithet appear on the obverse.
