| 表面の説明 | Facing bust of stylized, schematic character occupying the central field, rendered in the debased late antique tradition typical of Merovingian gold coinage. The bust is depicted frontally, with a rounded helmet or diadem-like head covering, flanked by pellets on either side suggesting drapery or shoulder ornaments. The portrait is highly abstracted, reflecting the artistic conventions of early seventh-century Frankish minting. A circular Latin legend surrounds the central device, reading the mint name AURELIANIS (Orleans). The flan is irregular and slightly scalloped at the edge, characteristic of hammered Merovingian tremisses. |

| 裏面の説明 | A bold cross pattée occupies the central field, with slightly splayed arms of even length, rendered in high relief as is typical of Merovingian moneyer coinage of the early seventh century. Small pellets or wedge-shaped ornaments are disposed between the arms of the cross in the four quadrants, adding decorative articulation to the design. The cross rises from a short base or step, a feature associated with Frankish ecclesiastical influence on coinage design of this period. A circular Latin legend surrounding the cross records the name of the moneyer, Angiulfus. The flan is irregular and of hammered manufacture, consistent with workshop production at the Orleans mint. |
