| Obverse description | Right-facing bust of Emperor Mauricius Tiberius rendered in the late antique imperial tradition, depicted diademed with a beaded diadem, draped in a paludamentum fastened at the shoulder, and wearing a cuirass. The effigy is executed in shallow relief typical of hammered Byzantine gold coinage, with stylized facial features and finely incised drapery folds. The surrounding Latin legend runs along the coin's periphery. The irregular flan edges are characteristic of the hammered production technique of the period. |

| Reverse description | Personification of Victory shown standing and advancing to the right, rendered in the classical tradition adapted for Byzantine imperial coinage. She holds a wreath in her extended right hand and a globus cruciger in her left hand, symbolizing Christian imperial dominion. The design is executed in low relief with schematic wing detail. The Latin legend encircles the type, and the mint control mark CONOB appears in the exergue, denoting refined gold of Constantinople standard. |
