| Descrizione del dritto | Right-facing bust of Emperor Majorian rendered in late antique style, pearl-diademed, draped and cuirassed. The effigy displays characteristic fifth-century workmanship with a rounded, slightly stylized facial treatment. The encircling Latin legend reads D N IVL MAIORIANVS P F AVG, identifying the emperor by name and imperial titles. The drapery folds of the paludamentum are visible at the shoulder, and pearl beading of the diadem is discernible despite the irregular flan. The overall execution reflects the reduced artistic standards typical of late Western Roman gold coinage. |

| Descrizione del rovescio | A plain Latin cross occupies the central field, surmounted by a small pellet or globus, enclosed within a beaded or laurel wreath rendered in bold, somewhat irregular relief. The wreath, tied at the base, frames the cross symmetrically and reflects the standard tremissis reverse type adopted throughout late Roman gold coinage. The mint control mark COMOB appears in the exergue, indicating the Mediolanum mint and confirming the gold standard of 72 solidi to the pound. The overall die execution is consistent with the late fifth-century workshop style at Milan, characterized by bold but somewhat crude engraving. |
