The facial features are schematically rendered with two pellets for eyes and a broad nose. Liuva II ruled for fewer than three years before being deposed and executed by Witteric in 603 — a usurpation that ended the legitimate Leovigildic dynastic line. His brief reign produced a correspondingly small number of coin types, and those attributable to Córdoba (Cores) are among the rarest in the Visigothic series. Pliego's corpus lists this type with minimal surviving specimens.
