Reverse description Standing figure of the king in military dress, shown frontally in a hieratic pose, holding a long cross-tipped sceptre or spear in the right hand and a globus cruciger in the left, following Byzantine imperial iconographic conventions adapted by Visigothic die-cutters. The figure is rendered in a flat, linear style typical of the Visigothic tremissis series. A Latin legend in two registers surrounds the figure in the field. The flan is pierced at the bottom, indicating secondary use as jewellery or suspension piece.
