| Descrizione del dritto | Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Emperor Justin II facing right, rendered in the characteristic frontal-tending late antique style of Byzantine coinage. The emperor wears a pearl diadem with pendilia, and his cuirass is visible at the shoulder. A paludamentum (imperial military cloak) is draped across the bust. | Descrizione del rovescio | Victory advancing to the right, her head turned back to the left in the traditional Hellenistic manner, holding a wreath in her extended right hand and a cross set upon a globe in her left hand. A star appears in the field to the right of the figure, serving as a mint or workshop control mark. The reverse legend VICTORIA AVGVSTORVH is disposed around the upper and lateral fields, with the mint mark CONOB in the exergue, denoting Constantinople and confirming the coin's pure gold standard. The design follows the established Late Roman and early Byzantine iconographic tradition for the tremissis type. |
