Obverse description Diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust of Valentinian III facing right, rendered in the late Roman imperial tradition. The effigy displays a pearl diadem, with strands of hair visible above the brow and a paludamentum fastened at the shoulder. The cuirass is decorated with typical military detailing. A barbarous peripheral legend encircles the bust, reflecting Suebi imitative workmanship with characteristically degraded lettering. The overall style shows a departure from metropolitan Roman die-cutting, typical of early fifth-century Germanic imitative gold coinage.
