The effigy is rendered in a stylized, frontally symmetrical manner characteristic of Lombard imitative coinage, with pronounced wide eyes and a short beard. A cross-sceptre appears to the left of the bust. The surrounding circular legend is divided on either side of the imperial portrait. |

| Mô tả mặt sau | A bold Latin cross potent occupies the centre of the field, with a small human hand depicted to the right of the cross shaft, a distinctive and unusual iconographic element identifying this Beneventan emission. Pellets or decorative stops are visible in the angles of the cross. The legend encircles the central device, distributed around the full perimeter of the coin, with CONOB appearing prominently in the lower segment, imitating the Byzantine mint and quality mark for Constantinople. |
